A path that winds between hills takes the visitor to Punta Pelícanos, with a spectacular view of the bay. The presence of an old cannon (1868), brought to the country by Carlos Lambert, a prosperous industrialist of the time, for the defense of the port in the War of the Pacific (1879) concentrates the interest in the area. Hence the origin of the name Fort Lambert. Nearby stands the Punta de Tortuga Lighthouse, inaugurated in 1868, one of the oldest in the country and of vital importance for the orientation of sailors stationed in Coquimbana Bay.

By plane
You must travel to La Florida de La Serena airport and then take locomotion to Coquimbo. Alternatives include taxis and public transportation.
By car
From the north or south you must travel along Route 5 in the direction of Coquimbo or La Serena. From Copiapó it is 344 km. and from Iquique 1,397 km. To the south, from Santiago there are 462 km. and from Los Vilos 231 km.
By bus
There are continuous frequencies from La Serena and neighboring resorts to Coquimbo. From Santiago there are departures every day. Check with the respective terminal.
Boat
Access by boat is limited to international cruise ships that arrive at the port of Coquimbo.
Today the Fort is a recreational place, with landscaping in front of the Peñon Pelícano and with the wonderful view of the Bay of Coquimbo.
A space with games for children and an incredible view of the Pacific.
