Città di Castello is a charming place on the river the Tiber with a medieval radiation. Remarkable is how the old and the new città is divided by the partially 14th century city wall. As a matter of fact it is also the place of birth of the famous painter Perugino. On a hill top at the edge of the forest lies this former Benedictine abbey from the year 1100. 8 km. south of Città di Castello and also Gubbio to be seen from the hill. One has tried to maintain the original state as much as possible. which is the case with the ceilings. floors and several doors.
