The Museu da Escrita, in honor of Sobralense professor Maria Isaurita Gomes Morais, parent of the project's creator, is located in the city of Fortaleza, state of Ceará, and started its activities in October 2012
Mission
We developed the '' School Project '' especially for teachers and students from private and public schools and colleges not only in Fortaleza but also to all those interested!
We schedule group visits that will be guided so that students will have a greater interaction and understanding about the evolution of writing providing a pleasant and didactic field class.

The Museu da Escrita is the result of the initiative of a spontaneous purpose on the part of its creator, José Luis Gomes Morais, fascinated by the art of collecting.
His mother, an elementary school teacher from the 50s, 20th century, in the city of Sobral, Ceará, Brazil, had been a dedicated advisor in the teaching of the first letters, as well as in the teaching of reading. It was from her that the founder of the Museu da Escrita received the first information about writing, so the Museum is a tribute to her mother Professor Maria Isaurita Gomes Morais.
Inaugurated in November 2012, the Museu da Escrita is divided into 16 rooms, where there are pieces such as a miniature reproduction of the Rosetta Stone, which was discovered in 1799 by the Napoleon army, Morgado's book has 973 pages and was written by a single person for 15 years and contains, inside, information about the village that was administered by the Count of Calheta, in Portugal, typewriting machines. Gutenberg and others that show the old printers.
Located in a house that measures 450 square meters and has been properly renovated to receive people with all convenience, José Luís' intention, soon, is to make partnerships. The Museum's doors are open to all those who want to know how writing started and how it evolved from the clay brick to the computers of the new times.
